by Colin Peacock, ECR Retail Loss Group
In previous meetings, the Retail Loss working group has explored the business case to increase the frequency of counting, with Waitrose sharing their results and the sales lift they achieved relative to the cost of the full store count. In this session, we will get updates from the participating retailers on their latest innovations and the new ways they are thinking about counting, from the process itself, and the technology, to the frequency, for stores and distribution centres, to the decision to in-source Vs out source, to the idea of different count frequencies for some departments Vs the whole store, to the latest thinking on counting the fresh and in-store production departments, to the validation of the count itself, and the different validation methods to determine true accuracy, and for those retailers who have adopted RFID, how their counting procedures have changed.
To kick start the session, 2-3 retailers will present their latest thinking for the group to then react to, discuss and then share back their own findings.
This session is for retailers, CPG's and academics only
