by Colin Peacock, ECR Retail Loss Group
As previous ECR reports have stated, in-store video systems are often seen as a form of ‘security blanket’, offering an opportunity to view and review events that occurred in the past. This working group is concerned with developing a better understanding of how these systems can be used in real time by security staff deployed in stores to both prevent and respond to crime and retail loss. The session will start with a series of retail-based case studies looking at a range of ways in which security staff currently utilise video technologies. It will then move on to consider how video systems might be designed and installed to enable these staff to maximise their potential to make a difference..
This working group meeting is for retailers, producers and academics only
