Description

Reducing Food Waste Through Expiry Date Visibility

Expiry date visibility is one the “holy grails” for waste prevention, with the potential to dramatically improve forecasting, deliver productivity changes, improve compliance and more. In this session, Karel updated the group on the size of prize analysis, and shared findings from a survey of the attendees on the readiness to adopt 2d data matrix bar codes, and the benefits they expect. This was followed by a presentation from Richard Plunkett of Woolworths, and Andrew Steele of GS1 on the latest learnings from the Woolworths 2D data embedded bar code trial.
